Southern Pines Custom Chicken Coops was born the same way many of our customers start their chicken journey — with a simple idea that quickly turned into something much bigger.
What began as a backyard project became a full-scale passion for building thoughtfully designed, functional, and beautiful spaces for chickens — and for the people who care deeply about them.
We’re a family-run business based in Florida, built by husband-and-wife team Haley and Tre, with a shared love for woodworking, nature, and craftsmanship – a lost art in todays society.
From single build to hundreds more
Like a lot of chicken owners, we couldn’t find a coop that truly checked all the boxes. Everything felt either poorly built, unsafe, or just… ugly. So we decided to build our own.
That first coop turned into another. Then another. Before we knew it, word spread — and Southern Pines Custom Chicken Coops was born.
Since 2021, we’ve been designing and hand-building custom chicken coops, duck houses, barns, rabbit hutches, and farm structures that balance predator safety, durability, and elevated design. No mass production. No shortcuts. Every build is made to order and tailored to the customer, the animals, and the property it will live on.

Every coop that leaves our shop is built by us — not outsourced, not assembled by a third party. From framing and siding to trim details and finishes, we’re hands-on through every step.
We believe chickens deserve more than a flimsy box, and homeowners deserve something they’re proud to see in their backyard. Our designs are inspired by classic farmhouse architecture, simplicity, and real-world experience raising poultry — not just what looks good online.

Southern Pines is proudly woman-owned, and our story is deeply rooted in family. Our kids are often right there with us — learning, helping, and growing alongside the business. It’s messy, busy, and real — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We know firsthand that chickens quickly become more than livestock. They’re pets. They’re therapy. They’re part of the family. That’s why we build with longevity, safety, and future flock growth in mind.

While custom coops are where we started, our mission has grown. Today, Southern Pines includes coop cleaning services, farm-focused accessories, and educational resources designed to help customers make confident, informed decisions — whether they’re brand new to chickens or expanding a longtime flock. We aren’t afraid of unique projects or custom requests. In fact, we love them.
